Research Forum 2025

The 24th Annual Medical Student Research Forum was held on November 24, 2025 in the Health Science Learning Center. This event showcased the research accomplishments of the majority of SMPH students, who conducted research under the mentorship of UW faculty mentors during the summer between their first and second year of medical school. More than 125 students presented their work through podium and poster presentations, and congratulations are in order to the winners of the Excellence in Student Research Award:

Yulissa Rodriguez-Hernandez (Racial Difference in Prevalence and Outcomes of Hypertensive Emergency among Hospitalized Patients: An Analysis from the National Inpatient Sample), who presented in Session A.
Marshal McGauley (Bone Health Optimization in Orthopedic and Spine Surgery), who presented in Session B.
